Welcome to my web-site where you can get information on how to buy DVD videos of the Glasgow Tigers' 2008 season at Ashfield.
Heat of the Week
27th April 2008
I first saw speedway at Glasgow White City in 1966 when Swindon Robins (and the legendary Barry Briggs) were the visitors. It took me a year to return, but I was en ever-present (barring holidays) for the next eight years as the Tigers travelled to Hampden Park and Coatbridge before ending up at Blantyre (where I saw only one meeting).
My teaching career then took me to Argyll where I've lived for the past 27 years, so I missed the glory years at Shawfield.
Returned in late 2001 with the Tigers now at Ashfield - was hooked before Heat 1 and now go every week with my daughter.
Started to video meetings in mid 2004 when Mike Hunter decided to cut back on his commitments.
OUR PRODUCTS
FIRST BEND ACTION VIDEOS (now part of Cowal Media) have been producing videos for Glasgow Tigers Speedway since 2004.
As of last season (2007) the action is shot primarily from a single camera from a location in the main grandstand capturing both the the speed of the action and the atmosphere of the crowd. All introductions, post meeting interviews and PA heat details are included in the final production having been recorded using professional digital sound recorders.
Commentary is not included at present giving the viewer with an authentic and realsitic feeling - as if they were there first hand.
DVD and VHS tapes are in the PAL format and are now available in the NTSC standard (USA & Canada) on request - contact us for details.
DVD’s are produced either in DVD-R or DVD+R format; most DVD players can play either format without any problems. However some are less tolerant (a bit more fussy) to which format they can or cannot play. If you know which format your DVD player plays best then select the DVD+R or DVD-R box. If you don’t know contact me with the name and model no of your DVD player and I’ll investigate which format is better.
2008 Prices - held again at last year's prices
I will again be selling each meeting individually this season for £10 + £2 p&p and should be available the following week. However I can make up compilations as follows - contact me for further details.
2 meetings on DVD: £14 + £2 p&p
4 meetings on DVD: £20 + £2 p&p
